ABOUT Asbestos:

Asbestos was a very commonly used construction material. It was used for fireproofing, insulation, enhancing material strength, sound proofing and adding a decorative component in commercial and residential buildings.

As a fireproofing material: It was sprayed on steel beams, columns, and decking that was used in multi-storied buildings. This application prevented these structural members from warping or collapsing in the event of fire.

As an insulator: It was used for thermal insulation and condensation control. It was sprayed on, or trowel applied, factory installed on or within equipment. Pipes, boilers, ducts, and other components of hot and cold-water systems and HVAC systems.

To enhance material strength: Used for components exposed to the outdoor elements for longevity and strength. These products include exterior siding on houses, roofing shingles, roofing felts, floor/ceiling tile, joint compound, and adhesives.

Used as sound proofing or decorative effect: Used for acoustical control and decorative component. Asbestos was added to product to create a softer texture appearance in homes and commercial buildings. Product was applied by trowel or by spraying on ceilings and walls.

What health issues can result from asbestos exposure?
Exposure to high levels of asbestos can increase your risk of very serious health problems such as lung cancer, mesothelioma, and asbestosis. However, there is no known safe level of asbestos; even minimal exposure can be dangerous and have long-term consequences. For your safety, never attempt asbestos removal yourself, and call a professional for asbestos testing and removal right away if you suspect asbestos-containing materials have been disturbed.
Should I leave my home while asbestos removal takes place?
In all cases the work area will be under complete containment using negative air machines with decontamination set up. The air conditioner or heat will need to be turned off, and it’s critical to seal vents and returns within the work area. Some abatement companies allow property owners to stay in their houses during abatement activities as long as they stay away from the regulated work area. We recommend leaving so as not to interfere with workers doing their job or risk unsealing the containment, especially by children. At the end of abatement activities, we recommend a third-party air monitoring firm do air samples in the work area prior to taking containment down. This protects the client and contractor and ensures asbestos fibers are gone.
How long does asbestos removal take?
It depends on how much we need to remove. Most residential projects will take 1 to 5 days to complete.
Why should I trust your company for asbestos removal?
Having been in business since 1995, we have more than 25 years of experience in this industry. We have been doing asbestos removal for a long time, so you can have peace of mind that we have honed our skills and that our process is dependable.
