As homes age, they become less stable and safe. While repair jobs can solve problems in certain situations, there are instances where residential demolition is the best answer to a problem. Here are a few of those instances.

When Is Residential Demolition Necessary?

  • Storm damage. Homes can take on damages from a wide range of different storms and natural disasters. This damage can range in severity, and depending on the extent of the damage, demolishing the home and starting from scratch may be the safest and most worthwhile option. This is typically the case when trees or other structures have fallen onto the home and made it completely unlivable.
  • Condemned. Houses that have been severely neglected over the years, whether from prolonged vacancy without any maintenance or otherwise, may require residential demolition services to make use of the property again. Condemned homes can face many different types of issues, including structural instability, health hazards, and more, any of which would mean the home is not safe to reside in.
  • New development. Sometimes, people buy a home with the intention of demolition right from the start. For instance, they may love the lot and not the location. Residential demolition allows them to create their dream space in that designated location. This is more common with older homes that aren’t easily renovated to suit the needs of their new owners.
